A Life Built on
Hard Work
Dr. Matt Heilala is a born-and-raised Alaskan. He met his wife, Stacey, in junior high, and they started dating at Soldotna High School. He began commercial fishing at age nine in Cook Inlet, and by fourteen, he was fishing Bristol Bay. By eighteen, he was a skipper.
He earned his medical degree in podiatric medicine and surgery and built a thriving practice along with other ventures, employing hundreds of Alaskans in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley.
Government doesn't build things or create jobs, the private sector does. Alaska needs a governor who will fight for limited government and more local control.
