Limited Government
Less bureaucracy, more freedom. Government doesn't build things or create jobs, the private sector does.
I've spent my career building businesses, hiring people, and creating real economic value. What I've learned is that government is at its best when it gets out of the way and lets the private sector do what it does best: innovate, invest, and create.
Alaska has let government grow too large, too expensive, and too intrusive. We have agencies that add cost without adding value. We have regulations that protect incumbents instead of Alaskans. We have a Juneau bureaucracy that makes decisions for communities it has never visited and people it has never met.
That changes when I am Governor. Limited government isn't an ideology, it's a practical commitment to spending Alaskans' money wisely, respecting individual freedom, and trusting communities to make decisions for themselves.
More Local Control
Decisions that affect Alaskans should be made by Alaskans, and preferably by the communities directly impacted. A one-size-fits-all approach from Juneau doesn't work for a state as diverse as ours. What makes sense in Anchorage may be completely wrong for Bethel, Cordova, or the North Slope. I will fight to return power to local governments, tribal communities, and individual Alaskans, because local knowledge beats centralized bureaucracy every time.
Veto Unnecessary Regulations
Alaska's regulatory environment has become a serious drag on our economy. Too many rules exist not to protect the public, but to protect incumbent businesses and give government agencies something to do. I will conduct a comprehensive regulatory review in my first year, eliminating rules that don't serve a clear public purpose, streamlining those that do, and making it dramatically easier to start and grow a business in Alaska. My standard: if a regulation doesn't make Alaska safer, cleaner, or more honest, it needs to go.
Transparency and Accountability
Limited government is not just about size, it's about accountability. Every dollar the state spends is a dollar taken from Alaskans. I believe taxpayers have the right to see exactly where their money goes, what results it produces, and what happens when it's wasted. Using modern technology, I will bring full transparency to state finances, eliminate shadow spending, and create a culture of accountability in every state agency. If you can't measure it, you can't manage it.
Empowering Communities
The strongest communities in Alaska are the ones that solve their own problems. From village safety to local infrastructure to community-based healthcare, Alaskans are incredibly resourceful when given the freedom and resources to act. As Governor, I will look for every opportunity to shift authority and resources from state agencies to local communities, trusting Alaskans to know what they need and empowering them to deliver it.
